iOS 15 – How to Remove Background Noise on FaceTime
If you join multiple FaceTime calls at once, the added noise from one call can make it difficult to hear your friends and frustrating. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix: Remove background noise on FaceTime.
With iOS 15, Apple has added a new feature to the FaceTime app that lets users easily remove background noise from an incoming call. This will come in handy if you have a lot of noise-making friends and family members who constantly call or video chat with you, all at once. To help them out, here’s how to remove background noise on FaceTime using iOS 15.
The iOS 15 Cure for How to Remove Background Noise on FaceTime
> Open the FaceTime app and go to the call you want to remove background noise.
> Tap on the person’s name who is calling you and scroll down to “Background Noise.” Here, tap on a noise-free setting that you prefer.
> Confirm your selection and tap on “Change Background Noise Settings.”
Use Group FaceTime
To remove background noise on FaceTime using iOS 15, you should use the group FaceTime calls. The added noise from other people on the call prevents your friends and family members from being heard clearly. So, if you have a lot of noisy family members who will be participating in your FaceTime calls, use group FaceTime calls to reduce background noise.
To start a call using Group FaceTime with iOS 15, hold down the Home button until Apple displays the camera icon. The camera icon is displayed even if you aren’t using an iPhone X or later. It’s a screen that appears when you long-press the Home button.
Then, click on the camera icon and select “Start Group FaceTime” from the menu. Once selected, tap on one person in your group who will be speaking on your call, then tap “Begin teleconference now.” Now that you’ve started a conversation with one person, it’s time to remove background noise.
To do this, follow these steps:
> Tap on another person in your group who will be speaking on your call and change the volume level of their microphone by dragging it up or down by clicking and holding and moving it left or right with two fingers
> Drag a circle around their audio icon (it should look like a speaker) and then turn off their audio by clicking and holding to shut it off completely.
Set a Ringtone for All Calls
First, in iOS 15, you can set a ringtone for all incoming calls. Here is how you do it. Go to Settings > FaceTime > Ringtone . Adjust the volume of the ringtone as needed and then make sure every call has it by following the below steps:
> Open the FaceTime app on your iPhone.
> Press down on the screen to open the list of recent calls.
> Select the contact or group of contacts you want to change your ringtone for.
> Tap the “Edit” button at the top left corner of their photo to access their settings.
> Scroll down and select “Ringtone” from the list of options, and
> Choose which song you would like to use as your new default ringtone.
Change Your Audio Settings on an Individual Call
Apple has done an excellent job in helping you to remove background noise on FaceTime. Another way to cut down on that background noise on iOS 15 is to change your audio settings on a call-by-call basis. To do this, follow these steps:
> Open the FaceTime app and tap on the profile icon.
> Tap on Settings and then Audio.
> Under the Hearing section, ensure that your selected type of audio is “Voice.” Then scroll down to the section labeled “Background noise” and select the “Remove background noise” option.
> Now that you completed this step, you can start your call with a clear voice and eliminate any background noise.
Customize Your Ringtone and Notification alerts
To remove background noise on FaceTime using Ringtones and Notifications, you need to customize the ring tone and notification alerts. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Message Tone. The easiest way to get started is with the Ringtone button. You will see a list of options that include music you have on your device as well as playlists that people have created for you.
Next, click on Notification Alerts under Sounds & Haptics in Settings > Sounds & Haptics. From here, select the bell icon next to “Ringtone” and use your finger to scroll down through all the different notification tones. Find one that sounds good and enjoy listening for incoming calls! Once you have found your desired song, click on it and select Customize from the bottom of the menu.
Reset Your iPhone’s Audio Settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset – Click “Reset All Settings,” then click “Reset.” After the iPhone has reset, go back to Settings > General > Audio and select your desired setting. You can set your audio to Mono or Stereo. If you choose Mono, it will cut out all background noise. If you want a more immersive experience, try setting it to stereo.
