WhatsApp

Do you ever worry about third party or other individuals being able to read your text messages?  How about being able to hear what you are talking about over your cell phone?  WhatsApp has recently added end-to-end encryption into the latest versions of their app. What does that mean you ask? With end-to-end encryption, your messages, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, and calls are secured from prying eyes or ears.

How It Works

End-to-end encryption, on the latest version of the WhatsApp, ensures only you and the person you’re communicating with can read what is sent. If anyone hacks your phone all they will see is a bunch of symbols, numbers, and letters that’s unreadable. Not even WhatsApp can read what you text.  (of course, if someone grabs your phone and has the password they will be able to read and see everything.) What I’m talking about, is hackers and third-party apps that ask for permission to access your data won’t be able to read or see anything you send through WhatsApp. Every message you send is secured with a lock, and only you and the person you are communicating with have the key to access the information. The best part is you don’t have to do anything to set this up, it’s all done behind the scenes.

Secure and Free Calling

Even your phone calls are encrypted so rest assured third-party apps can’t eavesdrop on your conversations.  And the best part is you can call anyone that has the WhatsApp for Free in any country.  Just make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi so you don’t use your cellular phone plans minutes.

Desktop App and Phone APP

What to chat with someone on your computer instead of your phone?  Not a problem, WhatsApp has a desktop version.  You can sync all your conversations to your computer so you can use the app on whatever device you want. Visit web.whatsapp.com to scan the code on the screen in your phone’s WhatsApp.

Voice Messaging

Want to leave a voice message via messaging instead of talk to text? WhatsApp can do that.  It’s a lot more personable. Simply hold down the voice recorder icon when in the messaging area and start talking; release icon when finished.  It automatically sends it to the person of choice.

Sharing Documents

Share PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, and slideshows with loved ones without the hassle of email or file sharing apps.  Simply click on the paperclip icon in the messenger area and attach any file 100MB or lower.

Change wallpaper

In the messaging area simply click on a contact locate the drop-down menu on the right side.  (It’s the three vertical dots), then choose wallpaper.  From there you can download WhatsApp’s wallpapers or choose a picture on your phone.  Be sure after you choose the wallpaper of your choice you hit set as wallpaper button at the bottom of the screen.  Now, whenever you chat with someone you have a nice background.

WhatsApp is simply the easiest and secure way to chat and talk especially with people in other countries.

Until Next Time,
