Working from home can sound like a dream come true. After all, you can sleep in later, go to work in your PJ’s, and be in the comfort of your own home. However, there are reasons why working from home can be rewarding…and challenging. With the Covid 19 epidemic plaguing our lives, we face new challenges we haven’t encountered before.
You may or may not like working from home. There are many reasons you will reap the rewards. Let’s look at why working from home has several perks.
What Are the Benefits?
According to YouGovAmerica, working from Home (WFH) has several benefits. A poll they published says, “68% benefitted from no longer having to commute, 63% enjoyed more flexible hours, while not having to dress in smart clothes came in third.” With the pandemic still being intense, there are many people who do not want to go back to the office when COVID-19 lets up. Some of the reasons appear below

The question posed to people was, “What, if any, benefits have you experienced while working from your house or local Starbucks?” The fourteen answers from participants are listed below.
1. No commute
2. Flexible hours
3. Ability to dress more casually than I would in an office environment
4. Ability to do small household tasks while also working
5. Ability to socially distance
6. Spending more time with family or other household members
7. More autonomy with my work
8. Increased productivity
9. Increased focus

Disadvantages of Working Remotely
The top five answers YouGovAmerica wanted workers to respond to were, “What are the reasons it has been challenging to “balance work with home duties.” The top five disadvantages of working from home responded to were: Balancing work with other home duties (e.g., Cleaning, laundry, pets), maintaining relationships with colleagues, distractions from family or other household members, decreased focus, and technical issues.
