Banktivity

Banktivity is used for tracking my family’s personal finances. It’s one of the best Mac apps I’ve found for behaving somewhat like a full-fledged accounting system but still remains quite accessible. The way it handles portfolio investments is quite remarkable, although it could use some improvements in the mutual fund unit value department.

About Banktivity

So, just what is Banktivity? Banktivity is strictly for Mac/iOS devices. So that means that PCs are left out of being able to use this powerful application. It’s safe and secure and developed with just you in mind. Be mindful that it is a subscription-based platform with a strong promise of 100% data integrity and privacy.

Banktivity for Mac is optimized for macOS 11 Big Sur. Don’t fret though because it also runs on macOS 10.15 Catalina. In order to use Banktivity on iPad and iPhone, you are required to have iOS 13 or higher.

A Little History

To begin with, Banktivity was developed by IGG Software Inc. as iBank in 2003. In 2016, the iBank brand was dropped and rebranded as Banktivity according to Wikipedia. In the same article, it is mentioned that Banktivity is every bit a viable alternative to Quicken for PCs.

Who Will Benefit from Using Banktivity?

Well, the short answer is…you…and any other Mac/iOS user that wants to keep a tight rein on their finances, even while working to achieve goals easier. Your personal finances can now be used by you to be proactive in managing your financial information – across all of your Mac/iOS devices. Not only that, it is safe and secure.

Pricing

Banktivity has 3 pricing tiers – Bronze, Silver, and Gold. All subscriptions are billed annually. One exceptional feature for the pricing tiers is that the Company does not hold your data hostage. It is yours to use and keep – even if you cancel your subscription – indefinitely.

Of course, Banktivity is always looking for ways to win you back as a subscriber, should you decide to cancel. Another way they do this is by providing free updates as long as you make your first payment. What’s included? Here is their shortlist — bug fixes, features, and enhancements. What could be better?
